Revolution. Amy got a new Car! Rick's got playoffs.
I just hit record. Isn't that nice? We're moving along in an orderly fashion. Here we go. Hello, everybody. Hello. Hey, what? We're back for more beatings. We're here. It's been over two weeks again. We're due two weeks in the summer, is what we're doing. I would have done it sooner, but I didn't get any emails saying please come back.
SPEAKER_02So anybody missed us at all.
SPEAKER_00We still did. We're still coming back, though.
SPEAKER_03We love you, but you might not love us. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's true. Even so. It's a good thing we don't make any money. Or, you know, I'd be broke. We'd be broke right now. Oh shoot, I'm gonna be a big thing. And uh also uh one of us got a new car standing out in my parking lot.
SPEAKER_03I'm super excited. Amy, tell about your new car. I got a new 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Yeah, Jeep Wrangler with a turbo engine.
SPEAKER_00It's like a Lego thing.
SPEAKER_03You can take off all my top, the sides, the windshield, the doors.
SPEAKER_00A woman from another dimension. Man should be dead driving a brand new car. She's the night bitch rider.
SPEAKER_03I am the night bitch rider. It's even red and black.
SPEAKER_00That's all I could come up with. I apologize for the joke.
SPEAKER_03I'm super excited. A turbo engine is like friggin' sweet. That's what I heard.
SPEAKER_00Especially in a Jeep. My God, you're gonna be able to climb up mountainsides. My daughter Sarah loves Jeeps, so we'll have to see. But she's got a toy, she's got a Toyota, but she can get her own damn Jeep when she wants. You know what I mean? Right? What am I, Mr. Banks now? You're Jeep.
SPEAKER_03Well, this, like I said, it's kind of my you know, empty nester as a girl. Me in the car most of the time, so I went for a car I wanted.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you earned it, damn it. Yeah. And then uh also, well, I got in a conversation this week. Uh not about cars, but about uh uh we were talking about people uh who in acting who uh also by the way, uh there's a show, there's uh welcome back show concert we're having in August. Take a look at the BDAC website for that. I'm hosting that uh and I am not singing. So everyone will be happy. That's good.
SPEAKER_01The uh the welcome back concert that we got for B DACT.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that'll be awesome. So it's gonna be fun. And I'm hosting it with uh Nataline. You know Nataline? She's uh she was in uh uh A Funny Thing Happen. Uh she was a whore and uh and a funny thing happened on the way to the channel. Just a character. Just a character, not her person.
SPEAKER_03She's actually She's super nice. She's very nice, Dan. Just as she turned you down doesn't mean you have to get mad.
SPEAKER_00I'm a married man woman. You don't have enough money. But she like she's like a sign language person, and she got her doctor in it. So she's very smart and she's like way above everybody in there, but she doesn't act like it at all. Yeah, she's very nice. So they decided to put her with me because I think people like her better than me. So we don't want everyone to leave in the first five minutes. When you get up and just start insulting people, apparently people take it, you know, they take it too much. They don't like it very much, yeah. Hey, are you more interesting than you look? I mean, you just can't say stuff like that. We kind of can't. Yeah. Yeah. So they brought Nataline on there to sweeten it up a little bit. So we're doing it together. So she's having a good kid. So we were talking about anyway, we were talking about acting. We're talking about uh people who get a pass, meaning people who get a like lifetime of your heard this. Rick, do you know what this is? No. So like this is people that no matter what they do, oh, they can just get away with that. They can get away with it. And so, like, for example, uh uh Betty White has reached the age to where no matter what she does, she gets she gets a pass. Yeah. If we're talking about people like that, and they don't even have to have a brain. I mean, they can just be good looking. Some names came up. That's true. Uh some names came up. Uh your guy Keanu came up, he gets a pass, but he's also nice. A good guy. He's also a good guy from everything you read about. Not an asshole. So we were thinking about this, and uh, I was thinking if you can come up with any other names. Uh they're mostly uh there's hardly any young people on there because they haven't earned it yet. They haven't quite earned it. The young people, they don't earn it.
SPEAKER_03Like Jane Fonda, yeah, Daryl Street.
SPEAKER_00She gets a pass. Streep, she gets a pass. Yeah. Uh what about Lynn Manuel, though?
SPEAKER_03Is he gonna pass? The Hamilton guy? He's on the end.
SPEAKER_00He's on the end, he's almost there. He's a broader.
SPEAKER_03He's more yeah, the Broadway theater type. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then also I love the uh the colorblindness casting that he had for the show. I thought that was awesome. And then, you know, to have George Washington play by a black person after we're hearing about everything about the revolution about the and then they have a play by a black person. That was it was awesome. That was pretty awesome. Great show.
SPEAKER_03Super great.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, there's nothing bad. So Lynn Manuel is on the tip.
SPEAKER_03Michael Douglas, maybe, might get a pass just because of his dad and everything, and he's put in his time too.
SPEAKER_00I think he's good. I think he's good. Catherine Zetta Jones.
SPEAKER_03I mean, she's hot. She's super pretty. Catherine Zetta Jones, her his wife. Yeah, she's super pretty.
SPEAKER_01What about the silence of the lambs guy? I love him. I think he already has Anthony Hopkins. Anthony Hopkins, yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I can't uh think of a couple more. I'm just trying to think of uh there isn't many kids that get a pass. Although I do like the kid from uh uh from um Matilda, that movie Matilda. Yeah, I like her. You don't hear anything shitty about her.
SPEAKER_01You feel bad because you think all of them are gonna be, you know, pushed over a cliff. Yeah. Yeah. By the time they grow up, they'll be right.
SPEAKER_00But she seems to turn out okay. Oh, you know who I think can do no wrong either is that um is it Malam? Is it Maylam from uh uh uh oh Big Bang Theory Gail. Um she also tried to host uh Blossom the girl who played Blossom?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. Maylum Highlight.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, I'm in I I Malam High. She probably hates that too when people say, oh, from Blossom. Like she probably hates that. Mayhem Baelick. I like her. Yeah. I think she should get a pass. She's very sweet, too. But uh yeah, there's just some people out there who get a pass.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I agree.
SPEAKER_00You know who doesn't get a pass is the people in the revolution.
SPEAKER_03Some of them get a pass.
SPEAKER_01I'm just wondering what the uh transition's gonna be.
SPEAKER_02Oh goodness. Let's see.
SPEAKER_01That's all about it.
SPEAKER_00I should just have a show of all my horrible transitions. No, that was great. Thank you very much. Yep. So we're back. Back in the revolution.
SPEAKER_03Back in the revolution.
SPEAKER_00It's July. Yes. How appropriate.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_00All right. So let's hear. So uh quick review. Uh, wait a minute here. Again, quick review. Here we go. So previously, on the revolution, uh, the mysterious Prussian had arrived. Uh, Varen von Stoiben. Stoiben. He helped train the uh colonials to be better soldiers. Yes. All right, and uh now they feel that their uh command can beat any army on the face of the earth, and they're eager for a fight. And it came on one of the hottest days. Remember, it was really hot. Uh the war at Monmo at Monmouth uh came on uh it was pretty brutal, and it ended up being kind of a draw. All right, nobody really won. Uh but uh now the British are a little concerned because now it's a brand new army, uh, and they came up uh it's this renews the public spirit, so that's kind of a big deal. So are you ready? Yep, yes. Here we go. We're back to July 4th again. Hey! Nice 1778. It's the second anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the second birthday for what will become a new nation, the United States of America. Now, for the soldiers, a day of celebration, and for their leader, General George Washington, a time of renewed confidence. Remember, they were giving him crap. Always.
SPEAKER_03Because they were losing, that's why.
SPEAKER_00That's right. It's been a week since the Continentals uh took the British on Monmouth Court. Of course, they're calling it a win, but it's really a tie. Uh uh more than 2,000 soldiers, they clashed on the field. Battle raged for hours in the stifling afternoon heat, but the Continentals held their ground. Now, Washington and his new uh and uh uh and the country knew uh that this army was a good one, and they had held their own against the British, and this renewed their public spirit. Now, after the battle, the British withdraw to their stronghold in New York City. They still own New York City. Yep. All right, uh, giving Washington hope for a brighter future in the war. Now, British pullout means that the rebel capital, Philadelphia, has returned to American hands, all right? Good. And the main chamber uh of Independence Hall is back, and the Continental Congress is back in session. Now, across town at the City Tavern, a crowd is gathering for an Independence Day celebration. Remember, they're gonna do it with fireworks. Uh 10-fingered Johnny did it last year. Now it's at six-finger Johnny this year. Uh July 4th is a who's who's of Philadelphia High Society. Congressman, statesman, and wealthy merchants are all in attendance, and also at the gathering is one of the most revered generals of the revolution, a man personally installed by George Washington because he knows his feats and the other people did not give him credit. Uh, as uh Philadelphia's military governor, Benedict Arnold. Now, Arnold, if you recall, was born to a Connecticut family, but his alcoholic father squandered the fortune. All right. He's determined to overcome his lowly circumstances. He's become a celebrated war hero, basically through she sheer will. Now remember, Fort Ticonderoga, Ethan Allen took his credit, all right? Ethan Allen. Ethan Allen. And then at the war at the war at the Battle of Saratoga, uh Gates took his authority. Uh he took his whim. But we all know Arnold uh took a bullet in the leg and barely survived being crushed by his horse. So when the battle was over, his second in command uh said, Sir, you were hit. And Arnold said, uh, it's my leg, and he said, I wish it had been my heart too. So he wished that he had died on that day. Right. And if he did, he would probably have a statue of this guy.
SPEAKER_03Probably.
SPEAKER_00But we have to we have to keep going. But there's more Benedict, because we all know Benedict Arnold, he's the guy I feel sorry for the most. Uh adding insult to injury, literally all of his credit, of course, went to Gates and to Ethan Allen.
SPEAKER_03Which is crap.
SPEAKER_00Gates doesn't uh mention Arnold and his dispatchers, and Garnold's all the garner's all the glory for himself, and the press just hailed Gates. Now, crippled from injury in Saratoga, Arnold had to relinquish his battlefield command for a new charge from Washington. And to restore order to Philadelphia, the city is still reeling from an eight-month occupation by the British. All right, guys. Philadelphia, under the British, was a place of terrible suffering, especially for the poor. They had a huge caste system going on. Uh he couldn't, they couldn't afford to buy so so uh it says that Benedict Arnor couldn't afford to buy any food or fuel. It was a place where dozens of American prisoners of war died every day. The houses were in shambles, there is nothing to eat, uh, people were begging in the streets, and the British occupation has helped radicalize the city. So mobs take to the streets for public demonstrations where prostitutes dressed as loyalists are paraded around town as a display of hatred towards anyone who sympathizes with the British. Wow. Sheepers. Yeah, we kind of took a bad turn.
SPEAKER_03Well, they did that in World War II, too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And in the heated backroom debates, both the state and continental governments are seeking to reassert their political power over Philadelphia. So this makes it prec again, hmm. You know, Benedict Arnold is put in another precarious situation here. Uh it's one that the headstrong general is not really able to handle. Benedict Arnold has something of a prickly personality. He is not the kind of person that an acquaintance would probably go out of the way for to compliment to other people. He's vain and he's somewhat self-serving. Boy, if we just would have given it to him. Anyway, interesting. And those who don't already like him are not inclined to do him any favors. And in addition, with his haughty manner and fancy dress, remember, Arnold looks to many like just like a like a very bad loyalist, all right? So around town around the town, Arnold and uh and his expensively dressed friends wear the wigs and fineries associated with the British. Oh.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that kind of puts a target on your back.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it is Arnold's actions as a military governor that cause a stir. Arnold's first act was to close all the stores. He had to take an inventory of everything that was available to supply the army and the civilians, but immediately the accusations began to fly that he was cornering the market on goods that he was going to sell himself. Uh I don't think Benedict Arnold did anything as the commanding officer in Philadelphia that many of the other generals wouldn't already do. It's a matter of custom. The officers got a percentage, a commissary, generals got a commission, and he was only doing what the others did. So Arnold does little to help his cause by regularly entertaining suspected loyalists. So he's still not entertaining. Oh God. Now he's kind of right. Now I'm not feeling so bad. There's one in particular who catches his eye, a uh younger lady, demure, quiet, and intense and lovelier than the rest. Uh Peggy Shippen. Oh, poor girl. At 18. As old. Peggy is half Arnold's age and twice as hot. Probably. And is the daughter of one of the wealthiest men in Philadelphia. Well, there it is. All right. That's why you make that move. Judge and merchant Edward Shippen. All right. So the Shippens tried to maintain their neutrality under British occupation, but are strongly suspected of being loyalists. Like many of Philadelphia society women, Peggy kept uh company with British officers over the winter of 1778. All right. So she's already one of her closest companions was British General Clinton's ambitious aide, a young man by the name of Major John Andre. So the friendship that she had with Andre has not ended in the withdrawal from Philadelphia. Through her friends, she still hears from the British officer. All right. It is a relationship that ties her dangerously close to the enemy, and Arnold is taken with the young lady and begins an intense courtship that captures her heart, obviously, because she has no other options, right? Because she's a lady of that time and she still can't vote. Uh, and cumulates with their marriage. So they get married. Wow. So now, Peggy, from the time she was about five, had heard about Benedict Arnold. Jesus. Newspapers were always full of his exploits. She was a gorgeous young woman, extremely well educated by her father as well, and could run a business which appealed to the which appealed to Arnold because, of course, he came from a background of a drinking father.
SPEAKER_03So she didn't need him then.
SPEAKER_00All right. Today they would yeah, yeah. Today they would be considered a dynamite couple, and I think they saw themselves as as that right away. Uh, but they're also under scrutiny. All right. There are uh uh extravagant parties, questionable business dealings, and Arnold comes under fire in the press. Oh boy. They are deadly serious charges. Corruption, abuse of power, leveled by an anonymous source, and they are a deadly serious source. Second, once again, Arnold faces a slight against his honor, but this time his integrity is called into question. That's an attack that may push him too far. And in the summer of 1778, the Continental Army has proven its uh mettle with the Battle of Monmouth and the battle that has uh solidified George Washington's position as the commander-in-chief, and he may have to step in because he doesn't have time to talk with him. He only corresponds with uh uh Benedict Arnold through paper. And if he could talk to him, I think directly he might have been able to solve some of this, but he's been so busy. And that is where we're going to end it today, and then we're gonna pick up with Washington, uh, starting probably getting into some business.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because back then, I mean, Craig, you got in a letter and it was like four weeks ago. Things have changed.
SPEAKER_00You know, like if you could actually Yeah, you know, and then people assume Craig. Yeah, yeah. If you could get a letter in three weeks, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's probably been opened and rewritten rewritten and like sent on like handwritten.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there wasn't really any federal charges for meddling with the mail back then. No, probably not. No. No, I'm just saying, you know. Yeah, it's kind of like she totally does with the brand new car, brand new Jeep.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but since it's been a little while.
SPEAKER_00It has been a little while. You got some news.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna start out with something gross. Oh, yeah. I know.
SPEAKER_01I haven't been ill for hours.
SPEAKER_03So, first thing first, but since it's summer and a lot of people go swimming, the CDC warns not to swim with diarrhea.
SPEAKER_01I mean, if you have support.
SPEAKER_03The agency tweeted a warning that one person with diarrhea can contaminate the entire pool. Oh and they had a like a video. No, no, no. The video went with it. No, you can't. The video is a little girl.
SPEAKER_01Again, this is your 14's last podcast.
SPEAKER_03Well, the video is of a girl sliding down the sliding down a sly, leaving a brown streak behind. So everyone is like so focused on the video that maybe we can clean this up just a little bit. And the best part is it's the CDC, so like the government paid for that ad of the girl with the poop on the slide.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm sorry for a should say that word.
SPEAKER_03Oh, come on, man. All right.
SPEAKER_01Chlorine can't clean that up. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Let's move on to I don't want that one.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_03Okay, this one. Moving on.
SPEAKER_00We got an old minute.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So a Catholic University in Washington, D.C. has found a missing. You're gonna get it's Dorothy's dress. What? What? Wait a minute, really? Yes.
SPEAKER_00From the Wizard of Oz. From the Wizard of Oz, the movie. Oh no, it was the slippers, I think they sold it.
SPEAKER_03And she had multiple dresses. Wow, that's a huge file. Yeah. So blah, blah, blah. There was rumors that it was like donated. There's a picture of like one of the Catholic priests getting this dress from somebody to like donate to them.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03Right?
SPEAKER_00That's all we needed, right? That's not let's not slander anybody.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, so there's this picture of this old dude, old white guy, getting this dress that that um what's her name finally that ward in the movie.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_03And so there was a rumor that it was they couldn't find it. How do they know?
SPEAKER_00Is it there's some tags in the back or something?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it like it was and it was signed and all this stuff. Oh, signed by Judy Garland? Yeah. And there was some okay, so they found it. So there was rumors of where it might be. He found it on top of, you know, the old like mailboxes, like metal mailboxes. They had it like in their admin building, and it was on top of that slid back. And that's where he found it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, what a funny.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, he opened the bag inside a shoebox and blah, blah, blah. The dress, he couldn't believe it. Co-worker grabbed the gloves and looked at the dress, took pictures. So there was um Wow. See, the University News, written in 1973. That's when they originally got it. So there was, where is it? Where there was five things.
SPEAKER_00How's it going?
SPEAKER_03Good. You're making it worse, man.
SPEAKER_00You got two weeks to edit your goddamn thing.
SPEAKER_03Okay, whatever. She's got jeep on the mind.
SPEAKER_01I know, kinda sorry. That's right.
SPEAKER_03There was okay, so there's things like characteristics that they know it's authentic. Okay. So there's a secret pocket on the right side of the pinafore skirt for Dorothy's handkerchief. Judy Garland written in hand in a script specific to a single person who labeled all of the extant dresses in the same hand.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Apparently a thin material of the blouse was prone to tearing when Garland took it off after filming, and a seamstress often had to repair it, donned for the next shoot, so the university said.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03So it's been authenticated as it was one of Judy Garland's dresses that she wore. It was hidden on top since 1973.
SPEAKER_01So what are we talking about price?
SPEAKER_03Well, they're not they don't even look at the thing. They didn't provide because they're keeping it.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's gotta be worth it. I would imagine they would.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. They're keeping it in the house. I know. Something that you can have a show in the movie.
SPEAKER_00And then say you could see Julie Garden's dress. And they probably people probably won't even see the show. They'll just they're just in their dress.
SPEAKER_03That's just freaking amazing. And it's just been laying on top or something. Or it should go on the Smithsonian or something like that. Something like that. So like Hollywood in the Chinese theater or something.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00Cool.
SPEAKER_03So moving on.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_03So this is my list. A couple things off a list.
SPEAKER_00Let me get your list of music.
SPEAKER_01I have this completely prepared. Excellent. Excellent. How are you doing?
SPEAKER_03How are you doing?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01Go ahead.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So this is a list of things that wedding guests have shared and an awful wedding they've attended.
SPEAKER_01Oh, God.
SPEAKER_03Number one. When my uncle got married, the best man dropped the ring. In dead silence of the church, you could hear it go ting ting ting as it bounced along the floor. One of the grooms and whispered, Jesus Christ, and the pastor who didn't bat an eye, replied, The ring already has been blessed. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Nice.
SPEAKER_03Some of the groom's family decided to prank the reception by dressing in teletubby costumes and running around to the theme of music. But instead of wearing the matching teletubby masks, they wore cheap white plastic masks from the costume store. Complete nightmare. People were freaking, children were crying. They thought like somebody was gonna come and shoot everyone at the reception.
SPEAKER_01There's some things that can go wrong. Immediate psychosis. Well, what the hell happened here?
SPEAKER_03Like, damn, that'd be scary shit. I hate telletubbies. They're creepy as fuck. They are creepy.
SPEAKER_01I don't like it.
SPEAKER_03Next, my cousin, a break dancer, had a break dancer at the wedding. He was pretty good until he split his pants during the act.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_03Revealing to everyone he was going commando, and he gave zero fucks and just kept going.
SPEAKER_00And he was and and he was Jewish. So there you go. It's a kickstarter.
SPEAKER_03Oh man. Oh, that's bad. That's so bad.
SPEAKER_00Hey, if they're going commando and we just lost six listeners, that's that's pretty much true.
SPEAKER_03Next, someone attended a significant other co-worker wedding where the bride was 18 and the groom was her math teacher, was 29.
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_03And they had McDonald's for dinner because that's where they had gone on their first date.
SPEAKER_01See, no, I try that shit. I get like, oh, we're going to McDonald's again? Yeah, right. Well, I like McDonald's. But for your wedding? Oh, well, right. Come on. I wouldn't people.
SPEAKER_03And he just broke up. Really? That's your first date of your student? Really?
SPEAKER_00Fucking McDonald's. If it was like a college professor and like a 26-year-old, I think I might be a little better, but there's something about the evil scope. Yeah, that's and you're sure.
SPEAKER_03I'm sure it was happening that whole time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03The next one is kind of gross. Oh God. A couple. I worked a wedding for a while.
SPEAKER_00You gotta sweeten it up before you leave.
SPEAKER_03Two weeks.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03I worked on they worked a wedding for an older couple. The groom's cake featured a manicured hand holding a penis. The writing said to have and to hold.
SPEAKER_02That was the groom's cake.
SPEAKER_03Like really. I know that's what I said. The bachelor party's one thing to do.
SPEAKER_00That's fine. Proud children. All your hopes and dreams down the troop. I understand.
SPEAKER_03Not classy, man. Not classy. Not classy. Alright, last one. This guy was at his uncle's fifth or sixth wedding. He expected cash gifts only, and instead of enjoying in the reception, he gathered all the envelopes and sat at a table with a notebook and calculator counting all the money he got. Like, how crap. Then don't get like obviously that's the only reason you got married.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, which is pretty easy. That's somebody, someone's special. That is very special. It's true. Yeah.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_00Okay. There's still evil people out there. It's kind of true. Oh my God.
SPEAKER_03This one is kind of, I guess, I don't know if it's really sports, but it's like a to it's like a Olympic thing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03So Shizo Kanakuri, the Japanese Olympian who vanished mid-race and crossed the finish line 54 years later. Um did you hear about that?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_03I thought maybe that was one of your things.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, not at all.
SPEAKER_00I totally missed it. Was it during World War II?
SPEAKER_031912.
SPEAKER_00No, no, she's been running this whole time.
SPEAKER_03You know, it's like force gum.
SPEAKER_02Keep running.
SPEAKER_03I just kept running.
SPEAKER_02Running.
SPEAKER_03So on a Sunday afternoon, July twelve July 1912, more than 18,000 spectators watching the finish of a marathon in Stockholm's Olympic Stadium stood stat and waited, cheap, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, waiting for 34 men who would never arrive.
SPEAKER_00Oh, they have no sense of direction.
SPEAKER_03I don't know what the hell, man. Of the 68 marathon runners who set off at the beginning, 32 dropped out, one died, and one, as legend would have it, just simply disappeared. In Sweden, he would become known as a Japanese who vanished. He was a legendary figure, disappearance-inspired literature and television, blah, blah, blah.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know what? He was being kept by somebody and he got Stockholm Syndrome.
SPEAKER_03I don't know what that's just come on. Come on, that's some weak shit. Come on. Give it to me. Let me have it. Even two weeks later. Let me have it.
SPEAKER_00Do you think he was there the whole time and just I mean he had to eat?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's a lot of yeah, you gotta it's messed up. You gotta carve up for that.
SPEAKER_03So while he was supposedly MIA in that country, he carved out a lengthy and respected career in his homeland over the next few decades, father of the Japanese marathon. Huh.
SPEAKER_00And then he just shows up. Yeah. And then he shows up. He's gonna be like Armstrong. They're gonna strip all his titles away now. Right? Son of a bitch. No kidding.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Wow, my funeral was great. You know.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I didn't know Steve was gonna be there. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, he eventually shows up.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_03And he went back and finished the race.
SPEAKER_01Oh, good for you. Good for you.
SPEAKER_03Oh, guys.
SPEAKER_00Well, you when you gotta go, you gotta go. Right? Wouldn't that be funny if you just had one more audience member? So that's the thing, is the audience members say and just went.
SPEAKER_02One here's some water.
SPEAKER_00Here's some water for you.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Uh this too, this just came in. Possible Michelangelo fingerprint found on a statue. Oh. Yeah. A thumbprint has been found on a small wax statue he created 500 years ago. Holy crap. Yeah. Museum experts at London's Victoria and Elbert Museum found the mark pressed onto the dark red figurine, which a sketch for a larger unfinished marble sculpture.
SPEAKER_00That's my marble sculpture. That's good. Ooh.
SPEAKER_03Apparently, it is an exciting prospect. Michelangelo Print might have survived the wax, because apparently back in the day, he destroyed many of his own works of art before he got famous. He just trashed them.
SPEAKER_01Oh really?
SPEAKER_03Because he thought they weren't good enough.
SPEAKER_01Hey!
unknownOut!
SPEAKER_01Never doubt yourself.
SPEAKER_03Right?
SPEAKER_01And then this is terrible. I suck!
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02It's garbage.
SPEAKER_00Now who's the guy who does who's the good arg so it's Da Vinci. No, Leonardo da Vinci is the one who's the big like he had all the planes and stuff, right? That he drew.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Da Vinci did, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then Michael Andrew just he's just painting it's he painted, he did the Sistine Chapel and all that. Okay, and that's it right now.
SPEAKER_03He was just, yeah.
SPEAKER_00He did a lot of like marble sculptures. I get those two mixed up sometimes. Yeah. I didn't know.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_03So this is my last thing since we had to hurry up.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you don't have to hurry up. No, it's fine. Here we go. Last thing.
SPEAKER_03Okay, last thing. This is happy news. Happy news. Okay. So I know a lot of people don't like Canadian goose because they poop everywhere.
SPEAKER_00That's what I heard.
SPEAKER_03That's when I heard. A concerned Canadian goose went to check on his mate, who was undergoing surgery at the New England Wildlife Center in Cape Cod on Wednesday. The staff noticed that Arnold, who lives in a pond near the center, was limping. When the staff discovered he had two fractures on his foot, they took him to surgery. As he was about to go to surgery, they heard tapping on the clinic door, and his little partner tracked him down and was attempting to get in the clinic. She had somehow located him and was agitated that she could not get inside. Oh no. But yeah, so she watched over him the whole time he was having surgery. Oh nice!
SPEAKER_01What is that?
SPEAKER_03So yeah, so the geese, you know, they're buddies, they're mates. Okay. Yeah, there's two of them out there. Yes, she was very concerned and loved him. And then I ended on the happy news.
SPEAKER_01That is fantastic stuff. Yes. Makes me almost sad.
SPEAKER_03I know. I like it when they're on the thing like the sides of the roads and they have the big fluffy chicks. Oh, yeah. And that's like the mom and the dad and they're little fluffy fluffies.
SPEAKER_00And they're just they're little fatties, and they're ugly, but they're cute at the same time. Yes. You know what I mean? They're so cute.
SPEAKER_03Little fluffy fluffy.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03Brick!
SPEAKER_00That's all.
SPEAKER_03That's all. Starts. There's lots of starts.
SPEAKER_01Bucks.
SPEAKER_03Amy! Goat Islanders, they won the.
SPEAKER_01Tampa Bay Lightning? Who won? Who won the championship?
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, Tampa Bay, the Lightning.
SPEAKER_01Tampa Bay Lightning are the championship of the NHL.
SPEAKER_02Yes. They won.
SPEAKER_01From Tampa? They beat a Canadian team. They beat a Canadian team. Yeah. And that Canadian team will never live it down for the rest of their lives.
SPEAKER_02Probably not.
SPEAKER_01You lost to a southern United state.
SPEAKER_00I was just going to say, is that the southernmost state that has ever beaten a Canadian team?
SPEAKER_01That's a statement. You would have to have to Google it. Yeah, that is a great question. Google it. Thank you, Rick.
SPEAKER_03One idea from Dan.
SPEAKER_00You'll take none of your shit. I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_03So you're saying you're not going in the pool then?
SPEAKER_00No, no. I'm not going in the pool.
SPEAKER_01So the Milwaukee Brewers, uh, well, they're losing right now. But they're winning this. Fantastically-ish. They're still in first place. That's what I said. They're still in first. Couldn't beat the Reds, though. Couldn't beat the Reds. But the Reds, yeah, they knocked us down. They're still ahead of the Reds by five games. So it's still okay.
SPEAKER_03Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, you know, you just got it now. You know, the all-star break was last week. Right. Um, which the National League lost again. American League won. The American League won for the eighth time in a row. Yes. And if you follow that, like I really have it until I watched it last week. So I didn't know that. I don't know what that means. So there's American League and National League, right? Yes. Right. They take the best players from each side. All stars. You know, all stars and pretend, you know, oh, you're the best. Oh, that's right. That's right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03They still have like our pitcher came in and gave up like a home run. Oh, yeah. Google.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, okay.
SPEAKER_03Well, haters sucked it too, and I was at the Brewer Game the other day. We were tied and he came in and clicked up a freaking home run in the ninth inning. Like, dude.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right. But, but if you are a basketball fan, Dan, I I kind of am now. Milwaukee Bucks. Milwaukee Bucks. The three and two? Fear the freaking deer. No, or two and two. Are we two and two?
SPEAKER_00It's tied up. When do we play the third sun bitch? Tomorrow night? Tomorrow night? Yep. All right. You might have to get an antenna on my TV. You'll need that.
SPEAKER_01What is it on? It's on uh Fox, I think. Was it Fox? Was it Fox?
SPEAKER_03We are playing Saturday, 8 o'clock, ABC. ABC. All right. And we're back at the Suns. Okay. Going back to Phoenix. ABC. Okay, Amy.
SPEAKER_01Amy, okay. I got it. Got her, hey?
SPEAKER_03Got it, hey?
SPEAKER_01Got it. All right, okay. Take off, holes. We're gonna do her, hey. We're gonna do her. You fear the deer or you don't? I I fear the deer.
SPEAKER_03Commander fear the deer, hey.
SPEAKER_01My car fears the deer, you know. This is really good news because the Bucks lost the first two, the last two. Oh my god, yeah. And then came roaring back like an angry, pissed-off buck. As they should. Who do we play if we win? So horrible. Nobody. This is a champion.
SPEAKER_03If we win best of seven, we win.
SPEAKER_00So no matter what happens, we're the second best team this year.
SPEAKER_01Nobody will remember it but us. Correct. Right. Because nobody remembers. Nobody's number two. Who cares? Who came in number two? Yeah. But here's a great thing. So, Giannis Ante Tokunpo. And I've been practicing ante tokunpo. Look at that. I've been practicing and practicing and practicing at work. Some people ask me, can you can you fix my toilet?
SPEAKER_03It's Greek fest this weekend down in Milwaukee. Whoa.
SPEAKER_01Ante tokunpo.
SPEAKER_03He might be there.
SPEAKER_01He should be. Giannis. Gyanis? Is it just Giannis? Giannis? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Did you just say Giannis?
SPEAKER_01Did you just say giant anus?
SPEAKER_00Nobody's listening.
SPEAKER_03Giant Anus.
SPEAKER_00Well, I got Ante To Kunpo. Scored two in the hole. Hello! With a foul! Thank you. Bam. Jokes at other people's expense. Does anybody do it better? Nope.
SPEAKER_02I think not.
SPEAKER_01Nope. Nope. Continue it. The last two games, the last two games, poor Giannis left the court in the first period. Did you guys hear about this? Yeah. So they're fearing, you know, he he hyperextended his knee like the last series, but he came back roaring back pretty good. Well, they asked him after the big win a couple nights ago, what's up with that? Giannis, why why did you leave the both games here so early in the first period? Is there something wrong? And he says, I went to take a tinkle.
SPEAKER_03Everybody's got to pee, man.
SPEAKER_01I went to take a tinkle and come and came back.
SPEAKER_00Everyone's got to go. You can't appeal when you have to pee.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00I mean, just leave him alone and let him play.
SPEAKER_01He's nervous, man. Yeah. Well, nervous. He's getting hydrated. I mean, you know, God, I'd be hydrated. Right. Now, some people actually complained that they said that he probably shouldn't have said that on live uh broadcast, right? Well, what would you rather have him say? I had to go take a piss. I take a piss. Come on. He went to take a tinkle. I go to the bathroom. He went to take a tinkle. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I think Giannis is the best. He also doesn't have us as a first language.
SPEAKER_00So I just play basketball and make money. That's all that needs to be done. And from what I understand, he's actually a very nice fellow. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Very nice fellow. Very nice guy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He's still, he he could have signed for probably a hundred million dollars more anywhere else. Do you know why? Anyone know why? He's with us? I don't know. You know what happened? Did somebody talk him into it? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Probably Aaron Rodgers.
SPEAKER_01We uh I highly we we drafted him, and he said that because the Bucs took a chance on him, he's gonna stick and he's gonna make the Bucks a champion. And he talked his little brother into joining, too.
SPEAKER_00There's five people on the team, right? So he'll be able to do that.
SPEAKER_03Well, five people play at a time. There's more than five on a team.
SPEAKER_00He'll get help from the other four, right? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay, good. Yes. A lot of help. Middleton and all those.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. I mean, help him.
SPEAKER_03No, God.
SPEAKER_01All right. No, no. They got a good, he's got a good one. They gotta feed Lopez Lopez, yeah.
SPEAKER_03They gotta feed him more.
SPEAKER_01They gotta they gotta. The guy is ginormous.
SPEAKER_03He's like right next to the hoop. Oh, he is. Like, yeah. Just give it to him.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01Just crush those people underhead. When does football start? Next month?
SPEAKER_03Preseason starts in August. Okay.
SPEAKER_01August preseason. Training camps are about two weeks away. I mean, isn't hockey starting next week now? Does it? No.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Which is a joke.
SPEAKER_02I'm just trying to find it's a joke.
SPEAKER_00Oh. I just wanted to hear it. Everything's starting next. Some of the some of the ridiculous things that the sports poor sports people, the uh the uh the nonprofit for profit uh sports teams. And you know what? Since you said that, yeah, which is a which is a bean in my bean curd that that it's uh gets in my craw in my in my jib. Well, here's something I was looking up and my jib.
SPEAKER_01I got I got a jib for you here. Uh top ten problems of the rich and famous, and some of these, a lot of these are sports figures.
SPEAKER_00Did you do my thing from two weeks ago when I asked you to find out? Did you do a lot of things? Remember the assignment I gave you? No, I don't remember. To find out the names of uh the followers of uh like what do they call?
SPEAKER_01Oh like uh like crazy fans of each sport. Yeah, what do they call them? Crazy fans of each sport.
SPEAKER_00I think I'll You said that you were looking forward to my assignment.
SPEAKER_01I'm very looking forward to that, but I completely forgot.
SPEAKER_02Like they call like uh what do they call pollers?
SPEAKER_00They call them like rope, I don't know, pin bunnies or something like that. You know, what do they call? You know, the groupies? Yeah, what do they call they got names for them though? Yeah, I'll have to look that up. God damn it.
SPEAKER_03There's that one for the brewers, her name was Amy, and she always sat behind, she had like her cleavage hanging out. She always sat behind home base for a while there. Wasn't her name Amy, something like that? I don't know. It wasn't me.
SPEAKER_00Uh I don't remember.
SPEAKER_03And they're big Gazungas or right behind.
SPEAKER_00You got you gotta you gotta find there's they got they got names. Like they got names for the uh like uh like hardcore p followers of NBA. Like uh what do they call dead deadheads? You know, you got grateful dead stuff like that. They got names for stuff like that. Sure. You were supposed that was a sports assignment that I gave you six weeks ago. That was six weeks ago. You kicked off the podcast too. Go ahead, continue with your sound. We'll talk this about this. I'm not gonna scold you in front of the other eight people that are listening on that.
SPEAKER_01I haven't got the heart.
SPEAKER_00Go.
SPEAKER_01So, okay, ten problems of the rich and famous. A lot of sports figures in this.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01It's hard to get there. It is hard to get there. So you gotta use that. Yeah, to get in.
SPEAKER_03Their careers can be pretty short, so I know they gotta make money while they can.
SPEAKER_01But I mean, taxes. Taxes are one thing. Taxes suck. Um like they say, if you think your taxes are bad on your sixty thousand dollar a year salary, um, imagine how bad it is for somebody for six million a year. And yeah, I get that. It's probably a couple hundreds of thousands of dollars, but eh, whatever.
SPEAKER_03They got tax lawyers and half the time they write everything off and they end up not really paying a whole lot.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Uh number two. And they can afford it. Number two is paparazzi, always following them. That way, that does suck. Um, no privacy, bad investors and scammers. Hey, can you imagine people who always want to screw your with your own?
SPEAKER_00Just be your accountant and lawyer to do all that work for you. If you wanted to live like if I want to do what I'm doing right now, I would have to have Steve, my lawyer, and then my publicist, and then my, you know, my accountant. Like those would be my my three. And they have to be people you totally trust. And they'd have to work only for me trust, right? Right.
SPEAKER_03Because otherwise they're scamming money off.
SPEAKER_00You're giving them ninety-five thousand a year or more.
SPEAKER_01Is that more than that?
SPEAKER_00And then you have to have an accountant to keep an eye on the accountant.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, right. And then you have to keep an eye on all of them. Yeah, it's tough being rich. You know, maybe I don't want to sucks. Maybe I don't want to do it. Lack of motivation is number five. Uh many wealthy people encounter this with their children, which makes sense. Although I know a lot of, you know, not so well off people that have the same problem. Um, lack of time. Most millionaires are often busy building their empires. Too much travel is number seven.
SPEAKER_03Okay, but it's probably all paid for if they're like going to write-off.
SPEAKER_01It's an expense. To go to Santorini. Right. Target for crime, obviously. Well, yeah. Higher risk of death. Yeah, I suppose you can't. Somebody assassinate you or something for you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that kind of crap. Major hack, yeah.
SPEAKER_00That never who thought that that would be a problem. No, it's like I hate something.
SPEAKER_03When then they have like, they probably have 80 million computers that they have and all their phones and all their kids have crap.
SPEAKER_01And all their information is on one item, one thing. You'd have to have a total computer genius, too. Now, this one is kind of sad. Kind of sad. Ten insanely rich pro athletes who were humbled by financial ruin. Oh, I've heard of it. Isn't Rodman one of them? Is he on there? This Rodman is not on the top ten list. He's just beside the way on his own. Uh-huh. Uh, number one, who's on here. Well, he likes to fight. Mike Tyson? Mike Tyson! That's because everyone took money from him. So this guy over it just makes me ill to read about this. So, um, during the long career in the ring that he had, he fought over 100 professional matches. Now, he held a heavyweight champion more than once and earned more than 400 million dollars throughout his career. 400 million dollars. And yet, Tyson declared bankruptcy even before he retired in 2003.
SPEAKER_03Try to wipe out his debt.
SPEAKER_01400 million dollars. Well, he got a divorce and then. Yeah, well, that was one of them. When he married to Robin Gibbons, yes. Right? Robin Gibbons. Robin Gibbons took a bunch, uh, Don King. King claimed uh he took uh millions over his shister. Alan Iverson, you remember him, basketball player for the 76ers. Yep. Um he was uh salary for one year was just under 21 million dollars when he got traded to the Detroit Pistons in the 2008-2009 season. But when Iverson's wife Twana, Tawana, sorry. Make sure you say that appropriately filed for divorce in 2010 after years of marriage. Tweely uh Tweely Amy. A different financial picture came to light. Iverson was apparently broken in debt and incurring monthly expenses, rumored to include the cost of buying new clothes when he traveled to avoid carrying. Carrying luggage.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01I mean, there's a good idea. You don't want to Why didn't I think of that? Oh, that's right. I'm a real person. Yeah. He doesn't uh let's see, he reportedly pulled out his pant pockets in court and shouted at his wife during their divorce hearing. I don't even have money for a cheeseburger. You've ruined me. Well, there you go. Yeah. Uh Dio Diego Maradona, he's uh he was a famous soccer player that I've never heard of.
SPEAKER_00We're gonna have to talk about him.
SPEAKER_01Um and Lenny Dijkstra.
SPEAKER_00Who's that?
SPEAKER_01Baseball, famous baseball player. Very uh one of the biggest, uh, they say at the time in 2008, his net worth was fifty-eight million dollars. That's a crazy shit. Million dollars. A year before that, he dropped 18 and a half million dollars on a mansion in Thousand Oaks, California. Wow. He even had his own website for investing ideas. Nails Investments, a magazine geared towards athletes' high-end lifestyles, and a financial advice column on thethstreet.com. But in 2009, Dykster, claiming to be a victim of mortgage fraud, lost his house to foreclosure and filed for bankruptcy.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, Ponzi scheme.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and he went to jail for the house.
SPEAKER_03And then an $18 million mansion when you're a baseball player, you're like gone nine months out of the year.
SPEAKER_00You know, just buy a nice two million dollar house. You can get a lot of go to Green Lake.
SPEAKER_01You can even live in a gated community for two million dollars. He had to go 18 and a half million dollars.
SPEAKER_03And then you're paying gardeners and cleaners, and you're not even there.
SPEAKER_01Just get a riding lawnmower and a weed whack, right? Like we said, that's like Bezo's uh Jeff Bezos, is that it's oh yeah, from Amazon. His yacht, and then he had to buy a little yacht to get him to the bigger yacht because his wife didn't want to ride a regular boat. Right. Jesus Christ. He bought a smaller yacht to pick her up to take her.
SPEAKER_03Oh, now she's divorcing him.
SPEAKER_01So she's gonna get the small yacht or big yacht? What do you think? Yeah. She's going for the bigger.
SPEAKER_03She'll take care of it and it takes up your time.
SPEAKER_00And it's a constant expense. And again, a boat is a constant expense. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And you have to, I'm sure they have a captain and a crew, and like they're not doing it themselves.
SPEAKER_01I think that thing costs five million dollars a year just to operate with nobody on it. All right. Darren McCarty, big NHL player, was these guys I didn't know didn't make a whole lot of money versus all the other sports figures.
SPEAKER_00Remember back in football, you had to have two jobs like back then because they had good players.
SPEAKER_01You got to go to the work at the burger, and then play center. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Have half your teeth too, but hey, that's all right. Like McCarty, a four-time Stanley Cup winner who earned more than 15 million, but during a 15-year career as a tough nose enforcer on the ice, would have been comfortable in retirement, you would think. You would think. Uh except McCarty reportedly fell under the influence of drugs and gambling and filed for bankruptcy less than two years later.
SPEAKER_03So he pissed it away.
SPEAKER_01He pissed it hard away. Dorothy Hamill. Remember Dorothy Hammel? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I love Dorothy Hamill. Apparently. Of course you did. Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. Dorothy Hamill. I love Dorothy Hamill.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00She was nice and she had the sassy haircut.
SPEAKER_01She probably got screwed over by a bunch of guys. She was like Judy Garland. She's so great. Um, decades after winning the gold medal of finger skating um in the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria. Dorothy Hamill was one of the nation's most popular athletes. A 1993 sir. Adored by millions. Adored by billions of people, yes. Um sports marketing group of Dallas placed her popularity above that of Michael Jordan in 1993.
SPEAKER_03No friggin' way. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Back then, I'll bet. Back in 93. She was everywhere on Jordan. Yeah. She was everywhere on TV. Ice Capades when she was retired. She did. Oh yeah. Yeah. When she signed a $1 million a year contract to skate for the ice capades. So they paid her a million dollars to skate in basically four shows. What could possibly have gone wrong, Rick? Tell us. Well, let me tell you.
SPEAKER_03She was too nice. That's what happened.
SPEAKER_01And yet, America's favorite figure skater was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1996, blaming her estranged husband. See, it was a man. Yep. Hamilled cont Hamill continued to tour, perform on TV. She had to tell him published a New York Times best-selling memoir, A Skating Life, My Story.
SPEAKER_03And he didn't care because it's her money he's losing.
SPEAKER_01No, he doesn't know. Terrell Owens, nobody cares about. Nope. Nope. He lost. Michael Vick. Nope. Nope.
SPEAKER_03Hate that guy.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Reportedly, he had to pay back $18 million. As he should. Yep.
SPEAKER_03And he should go get like mauled by a bunch of dogs.
SPEAKER_01Because what an asshole. Yep.
SPEAKER_00There it might be. Yes. From a long ways away, so he can't come find him. That's just sick.
SPEAKER_01The list I was finishing the last time I did. You know what? I don't even know if they're Oh, Storming the Court. Oh, I thought you were going to say Stormy Daniels.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, she should have plenty of money.
unknownYeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Stop that.
SPEAKER_00Hey, I don't even know what she looks like. I don't either. Bullshit. From the face up. Do you need to know? If we were doing a lineup, we would have to chop off all the heads. Because I go ahead, Ray. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Whatever. Moving on.
SPEAKER_01The list I was doing was 12 crazy things that sports fans do that they probably shouldn't. Storming the court after Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03You started that last time, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Naming kids after sports-related things. Not necessarily people.
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, there's one here. You don't want to name your kid MC Hammer.
SPEAKER_03Are you hockey book?
SPEAKER_01You are. Don Rickles. Field Gold Johnson.
SPEAKER_00Field Gold Johnson was apparently.
SPEAKER_03I won't get him beat up at all. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Poor kid. And now he's doomed to play sports, and if he's not good, therapy not. It's like calling your kid hoops.
SPEAKER_01Right. Going shirtless in cold weather. Well, that's crazy. But if you want to go ahead. Yeah. Burning jerseys of your not-so favorite person. But you still had to buy the jersey.
SPEAKER_03Those jerseys are freaking expensive.
SPEAKER_00They made money. I mean, if you want to burn it, it's your own property. Yeah, you're giving them do it in your own yard and not in a public place. That's that's fine.
SPEAKER_01You want to burn well the uh the uh great advice that they say is buy the jersey, burn it at home. Just don't tell anybody about it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but you're still giving them the money if you're buying their jersey. Why would you buy a jersey you guys hate just to burn it?
SPEAKER_01Exactly. Those aren't cheaper. Just hate the real one.
SPEAKER_00Just hate them. Like normal people. Just hold your hate in and let it out when you want.
SPEAKER_01Michigan fans burned at least one couch after their team's devastating loss to in-state rival Michigan State in October of 2018. Uh, Michigan State fans did their part and did the same thing after their football team beat Ohio State. So burning couches is apparently something they shouldn't.
SPEAKER_03Well, anytime you beat Ohio State, you gotta do something.
SPEAKER_01All right. What's going on with Ohio State? Why is that? Everyone hates Ohio State. They're always so good. They always go to championships and blah, blah, blah. Oh, they do. They're dicks. Yep. They're a hard-to-beat team. Very hard to beat. Did they earn it, or do we just hate them on principle? They just win and they're dicks. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Like Tom Brady, no matter what he does, he's a dick. Yeah, he's an ass. Right. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01We don't have to have a reason to hate. We can just hate. And the last thing on the list here is streaking. You should never do because, man, have you seen some of those streakers just get absolutely plastered? Yeah. So the last thing. Oh, Dan's dream is over.
SPEAKER_00Hold on, let me cross it out. Gonna crumple up this post.
SPEAKER_03I love it when they get tackled, though. That's freaking awesome.
SPEAKER_01Scrum up that post. I think my favorite video is that streaker that was it came flying out onto um, I think it was in San Francisco. And that's in their old field where they used to play the baseball game and football stadium. Oh, yeah. So part of the football field was the first one. Packers did that too in Milwaukee. Milwaukee, yes. And this streaker was flying out and thinking, I'm the best, I'm the best. And this huge, fast, uh like guard was just uh you could see him coming from behind, and he tackled in from behind, and this naked dude did a belly slide right into the uh infield gravel. With this big guard, he probably got by him.
SPEAKER_00Like it was his section, and that's where he probably hit. Oh, yeah. And he probably was like, oh no, you no.
SPEAKER_01You can pass me. Yeah. So yeah, can you imagine the uh rash did he get?
SPEAKER_03Oh, fuck, that would hurt. Man, a lot.
SPEAKER_00That's just not good. So late days came in, my dogs are finally settled down from all the frigging fireworks. Oh my God, Riley hid from everybody. We don't know where Riley, wait, and he's usually downstairs or you know, on a carpet somewhere. But God, the fireworks after 12 now have got to stop. I mean, after I mean, you hear practically you're just three blocks from me, you hear him all the time. Um, yeah. Only she doesn't have any pets though. No, we don't have any pets.
SPEAKER_01But on the 4th of July, we were we were hearing all these explosions, you know. Oh yeah. Fireworks. We're like, oh, there's they're throwing fireworks down over the lake. They must be. Well, it's we drove through town. My God, there were fireworks everywhere.
SPEAKER_00You can't have class, you can't have class A fireworks in city limits, but somehow they're getting this year. They did.
SPEAKER_03You can have them, you just can't light them off, technically.
SPEAKER_00So you can hold them. You can buy them and you can have them. I didn't know that. You can buy them.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, but you just can't let them, you're not supposed to light them off.
SPEAKER_00So I've never gone to any of these fireworks things that are on the highway. Are those full range like firecracker? SAM's.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you can buy them.
SPEAKER_01Those are big launching.
SPEAKER_03It's just illegal to set them off.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01So you can buy them, but you just got to look at them and wonder what would this do if I lit it? But that's legal. You can have it. You light it. But you set it off.
SPEAKER_03Now it's illegal, yeah.
SPEAKER_00See, that's just strange. Well, that's weird. So you can have marijuana.
SPEAKER_03You just can't. Technically, no, you can't possess it. Not in this state, not yet.
