History is back. Amy...pig valves? Rick who's Faraj Fartass?
2123. Yeah, yeah. We started.
SPEAKER_00Not the movies, the TV show.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we started. We started. Oh, we started? Yeah. Thanks for the notification there, Dan. We just we just it's been such a long time.
SPEAKER_00Woo! Oh here's Buster.
SPEAKER_02What else is new?
SPEAKER_00We started and the dog bark.
SPEAKER_02It's the damn beaver podcast.
SPEAKER_00It's like old times.
SPEAKER_02We've never left everybody. What's happening? Hello! Oh my Lord. Lord. God, how long has it been? It's like six weeks?
SPEAKER_00It's been longer than six weeks.
SPEAKER_02It's been a long time.
SPEAKER_00Way before Christmas, because we had the other show. We did one in the middle of whatever. The radio show before.
SPEAKER_02Then before that, it was that you guys were in that other play. Yeah, we were in that specific thing that we were talking about. Yep, that's right.
SPEAKER_00Because you guys were in a play.
SPEAKER_02Because we were in the thing. It was hard. Hey everybody.
SPEAKER_00It's alright, I got my Zumba on.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, girl. Looking great, looking great.
SPEAKER_00I'm missing it tonight.
SPEAKER_02Zumbaing and I for you guys. Wow. I uh did we talk about my car? When I ran into the car. Yes. I did, right? Okay, good. So that was that was last time. Well, I found out uh uh that I had broke uh the uh oh the windshield wiper uh tube that goes from the front of my vehicle to the back, you know? So whenever I put like to do the back shield windshield, obviously, I would flick the uh the thing to get the water out of my windshield, yeah. And uh nothing would come up. So I looked inside the reservoir and it's completely empty. I filled it up. Uh it worked fine. Then I went and looked the next day, the next morning, completely empty. So I thought there was a hole in my reservoir. So I brought it in. Brought it in. The guy said, No, it's not the bucket, it's the tube that's broken right in the middle of the car. Come to find out, all of the fluid that I had been pouring in had been getting soaked up into the floor of my back seat where nobody goes.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So they they uh they fixed that uh for free because it was part of the warranty, so it was nice uh so they sucked in that completely dry, but I was getting like Everglades in my car. Whenever I would get in and turn on the heater, it was like a swamp in there because it would all my windows would steam up and shit, and I thought there was something wrong. Well, because you had moisture in there. You had moisture in there. Thank you, Rick. That's what that was. Moisture. Everybody hates that word.
SPEAKER_03They do.
SPEAKER_02Everybody hates the word and uh with ointment. So that's what's so uh I had that fixed. Once that was fixed, the car ran great. Uh defrosters were working, AC was better. But yeah, uh a complete two, probably two reservoirs filled with fluid in the back. They said, No, it was galvanized and all that stuff. But we had a fun uh we had a fun New Year. We had a lot of theater folk over. It was a good time. We played dice games.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, sorry, I missed that.
SPEAKER_02Ricky was doing his uh uh singing local vocal show. We think yeah. Uh we didn't go. So we stayed here. We noticed, by the way. We haven't sponsored a New Year's Eve party probably in three years because of Kelly's schedule. So it was really fun for us to find out. That's cool. That's a nice one.
SPEAKER_03I miss the case. I miss the home party.
SPEAKER_02It's it's alright. We had a lot of people over that weren't like our normal like lifelong friends, because over lifelong friends are kind of like too far away and they don't want to drive anymore or something. There's something going on there where nobody wants to drive anymore. Yeah, yeah. And if you want to have fun, so we had people played dice games and then we played hard games and we played oh dirty games.
SPEAKER_00Dirty Dan Games.
SPEAKER_02There's a uh there's a game called uh what's that called Oh, that's what she said. My mom and dad don't like the gold either.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah. Mine's ninety. My mom's ninety hell. My dad's eighty six. He just had a gallbladder too last week.
SPEAKER_00Oh god, yeah.
SPEAKER_02We're getting to the point where we gotta kinda gotta take over like some of those meals, you know, like the Easter meal and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_03Oh, now he's arguing with the hospital.
SPEAKER_00I'm fine. Did he have surgery at home?
SPEAKER_03No, not yet. What? No, they're blood, bad blood pressure. Oh boy. So now he's trying to take the tube out and everybody's like, No, don't put it on. I'm fine, I'm going home. No, no.
SPEAKER_02That's a murderer version of your father, like it's exactly. Yeah, that was pretty close.
SPEAKER_03That's what I'm hearing.
SPEAKER_02That's exactly what he sounds like. Yes, it is.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, we had a lot of people.
SPEAKER_02And uh the theater's doing uh starting to get shows back on. They don't have a uh summer musical yet. They almost had one.
SPEAKER_00I always saw the bagpipe guys. They were awesome. Yeah, they were fun.
SPEAKER_03That sounds like a good time.
SPEAKER_00I love big pipes.
SPEAKER_03Big pipes are awesome. They're pretty good. Did they wear pants or this week? Ah, anything else? They didn't prove it, did they? They didn't prove that there was some people don't wear anything underneath the kill.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I don't know about that. You didn't like moon us or anything.
SPEAKER_03That was like it was a family show. I don't wear anything under my kill.
SPEAKER_00It was a good time, they had awesome music. No kidding. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But uh yeah, they're trying to I was at the board the other night. I don't know what I can talk about, but I know that there's a uh there's the new uh the new guys uh the new managing director there. Yeah, I have forgotten his name, but uh I'm sure it doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_00He's got two first names.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like uh chalk chalk or you know, like Ray Ray, you know. I don't think so.
SPEAKER_00Robert Michael. Robert Michael's like seven words, yeah. It's got two first names. That's cool.
SPEAKER_02I should have researched that. But uh way to go.
SPEAKER_00Nice guy.
SPEAKER_02He's a nice fellow.
SPEAKER_00You're off the board, by the way.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, done. Got a three-year term built in, baby. They got a deal with Uncle Dan for three years.
SPEAKER_03That's right. I got his name here if you wanted.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, much fun. But anyway, we're talking about uh we don't have a musical for summer. Oh, David Allen. They tried, they too they wanted to do Spam a lot, but the director had too many responsibilities that offered. Oh Spam a lot, they were gonna do the summer injury. Oh man, it would have been uh Jessica fever woman.
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_02Why would have been good?
SPEAKER_03And she didn't feel like she had anything going on.
SPEAKER_02No, there was she had too much going on. Something but she hacked out and then uh yeah, it's tough. We were gonna do a little mermaid, and then that didn't work out. It was too hard.
SPEAKER_03Since Mark Mark's mom is the only one that actually listens to this, can we give her a hard time?
SPEAKER_00Oh sure, absolutely.
SPEAKER_03Hi, Mrs.
SPEAKER_00La Febre.
SPEAKER_03Not Mrs. La Febre, I meant give Jessica a hard time. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. The other Mrs. La Fever. I thought the other Mrs.
SPEAKER_00She always says she listens to the show.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Mark Mark's mom is listening right now.
SPEAKER_00Hi.
SPEAKER_02Hi. And so uh but yeah, they want uh so we have a lot of comedies, it's a little weighted. They're trying to do lots of little shorts, but we don't have a big shoe, if you will, yeah, coming up in this summer. It's usually necessary. And it's hard to do that because if you're dealing with because look what happened uh with the radio play. I mean, there's 14 people that like backed out because of sickness or whatever. Yeah, it's hard, especially and if you got a music and then they back you're dealing with many. It was said the other night you're dealing with many circles of people because you're dealing with 80 circles and all the people that they touch and they're bringing that in. So nobody wants to commit if they're gonna be backing out at the last minute. So to do these shorter, these smaller cash shows seems to be the big thing. Which coincidentally, uh the Shakespeare uh on a bridge with the Reduce Shakespeare Company, which is three people, uh, where we do all the plays of Shakespeare in 1390 minutes or less. Uh I think it's gonna get rid of it. That'd be fun.
SPEAKER_03It's gonna be a great show. That's gonna be fun. I was in that years ago we did that. Yeah. How long ago? How long ago did you do that? Twelve years ago, maybe? Wow. It was a long time. Yeah, I was young. Oh I was young and I was uh I was healthy enough to do it. Full of ambition. Yeah, now I don't know if I could draw on a stage like I did that. Hopes and dreams. I was.
SPEAKER_00I can't be in a guy's only.
SPEAKER_03Now it's a stupid show. Or is it? I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think Shakespeare, that's what's good about Shakespeare. It could be it's very manly though. It could be anybody, yeah. It could be any creed, color, whatever. Doesn't matter. Shakespeare wrote it for.
SPEAKER_03It's gonna be a fun show to watch.
SPEAKER_02I think we will be.
SPEAKER_00I will heckle them.
SPEAKER_02How dare you, Name?
SPEAKER_00How dare you, sir?
SPEAKER_02But you know what has to keep going? Uh the revolution. Does it? Yeah, it does.
SPEAKER_03It does. Otherwise, it never stops. Damn it.
SPEAKER_02Three more podcasts, and the revolution will be over, people.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Can you believe it? That's your cute. Three more. Three more. We'll see you in four. People are over.
SPEAKER_02So 10-second review. We're not, I'm not even gonna go into the Here we go. All right. One more. So Benjamin Lincoln, we're we're south now. Remember the war with the name. Benjamin Lincoln? Benjamin Lincoln is his name. He was he's the fat. Remember, I told you about him, he's a fat guy who uh has sleep apnea. And uh it's just a nice, he's very good politically, but not very physical. And so he's doing his best to uh to try and uh run things uh south here. So uh so it's massive. So what's happening is is the uh they're they're in Charleston and they start digging these trenches around there to try to keep the British, because they're outnumbered quite a bit. Uh so they start to lay trenches and create as many obstacles as they can, all designed to slow down the the uh progress of the British Army, right? But Lincoln show uh knows that unless there's reinforcements, the outcome of the fight is inevitable. Because back then, people are a big deal. So uh this is what Lincoln says to Washington. I mean again, they don't just get to the point if this were a letter right now says, hey, can you send us some damn troops? So this is how they they're very polite. It says, I can promise you nothing but a disposition to serve my country and to defend Charleston, as long as the opposition uh can be any available with more troops, General Benjamin Lincoln. That's what he writes, that's what he writes to Washington. Whereas we would just say, give me some damn troops. Right, meet some people. We don't have time. So, April 1st, 1780, day one, 800 yards west of the American fortifications at Charleston. The British begin their offensive with a shovel rather than with a cannon. So, General Clinton, that's the new general here, because remember, three have been just have been outdone, uh, which we we I don't want to go into, but he's the third in this role. Yeah, is to take Charleston intact. Okay, if he destroys the town, he fears the citizens will refuse the crown authority, and instead he will surround Charleston and conduct a highly structured formal assault on the city, which is timely. So, what they do, they do a siege. Amy, you're familiar with this, right? Siege is a methodical and time-consuming reduction of uh of their place. So they start digging these little trenches, and they just one by one they get closer and closer and closer. They're called parallels from what I understand. So they slip it's like the incremental tightening of a noose, okay? Helping to construct the first British parallel is a labor force uh seeking its own freedom uh in the War of Independence. The slaves who have joined the British side, okay? They have come from the countryside enticed by the Phillipsburg proclamation or a renewal of Lord Dunmore's 1775 edict, and it offers freedom and land to any slaves who joins the British cause. Boy, those guys. I mean, what would you do? You gotta if you were them, yeah, they knew that uh Carol, they knew the British knew that South Carolina's population, the majority of its populations, were African American slaves, and uh they could be this potential fifth column for them. So if you know for a moment that you have an army with an opposing enemy, you're gonna it's only natural that you want to get with the British. So slaves can't just walk off the plantation and enlist with the British, so they have to escape.
SPEAKER_00So for just walk off.
SPEAKER_02Right. So for the slave families, of course, it ends up being a difficult decision. So those kinds of calculations have to be made. Now, over time, thousands of slaves escape and go to the British lines to fight for their freedom. Uh yeah, and so they're presented with staying or having the real possibility of being a slave and getting killed anyway, so they figure why not? How do you like that for your life? Well, yeah, either get killed here or killed there. Or fight. But with the possibility, yeah. Right. I fight. So the nights are spent digging trenches, and by sunrise, each side wakes up just a little bit closer to the other. And from his barracks in Charleston, an anonymous soldier is just beginning to feel the effects of the attack and the chart and charts the British uh the British uh progress. And he says, last night the enemy, again, I'm gonna read this. Is probably this is how they sound, but last night the enemy continued their approaches. They they erected a battery for twelve cannons, and the batteries had thrown several shots in the town by which one of the inhabitants in King Street was killed. Wow. Day seven. The North comes, and then news for uh news for American uh uh the American general Mr. Benjamin Lincoln has been waiting relief on the way. That's what he wants. Continental soldiers, promised by Congress, have arrived. Yay! And they're making their way to the city, marching double time. They have made a 505-mile journey from Virginia in 30 days.
SPEAKER_03Nope. Oh, that sucks. They were busted.
SPEAKER_02I bet you they were just happy to get out of the cold, because remember, it's freaking cold up there. So Charleston citizens greet these soldiers with cheers. And uh, rather than the 3,000 soldiers that have been promised, the Virginians numbered just 750. So these numbers fall too short. Bearing down on the city are get this 10,000 British threads. Whoops. Yeah, let's do the math there. So the British take their aim on Charleston Harbor as a group of warships runs the narrow channel under the cannon fire of Fault Molt uh Moultrie, and uh the American outpost is protecting the inlet with its fleet, now safely in Charleston Harbor. Henry Clinton, the British commander, encircles nearly all of the city. All right. They don't have much of an escape here. Day 10. From their position of strength, the British now send the Americans an ultimatum. All right, now listen to how this works. Uh they give uh to the he asks them to give up the fight and surrender. General Lincoln's response is immediate. He will not yield his post. And this is a protocol of war at that time, mandated that defending the commander, that the defending commander keep the fight up at least long enough to meet the minimal uh dictates of honor at that time. So the besieged commander would always routinely decline the first one uh offer of surrender, right? So uh Henry Clinton has got what he expected, and it's he strengthens his resolve. They will now defend the town, and we will take it, and we shall take it all, Sir Henry Clinton. Now, day 14. Uh the British soldiers uh are starting to get closer to Charleston, and their shelling fills the days with hot lead raining on the town. Just one escape path remains open to the Americans along the Cooper River and the crossroads called Monk's Corner. And running through a series of shallow crossings along the river's edge, the route serves as the last communication link between Charleston and South Carolina backcountry, all right? Uh the Continental Garrison is stationed at Monk's Corner. Their damage, uh, their charge is a vital one. Keep the route open. And for the British, it's a huge target, and they need that to encircle the whole city. And this guy, Bannister Tarleton, the 24th Bannister is his name. 24th, not still still not as good as our favorite one, Rick. What's his name? Baron von Steuben. But Steuben! Bannister is one of Clinton's most capable subordinate commanders. He is a dashing young cavalry commander and a known son of a bitch. Oh! As he understands how to fight this theater, but his actions are all directed at decisive destruction of the enemy combat power. So, Charles, uh, so Bannister is known for his daring, for uh moving and quick cavalry hits, and he's also known as for justice with no restraint. So at Monk's Corner at night, he unleashes a daring plan on the Americans, surprise attack undernight. Uh Bannister and his men make their move. They strike fast and hard without mercy. Uh the generals and the soldiers plead for mercy, and he does not give it. He meets it and runs through with his saber. So Monks Corner now becomes Tarleton's uh calling card, and it is not the last time the Americans will face this brash cavalry officer. And the final road out of Charleston is now closed. Now, April 1780. The siege of Charleston, South Carolina ends its third week, and the British painstakingly inching closer. With the last road shut down, the British uh General Clinton starts tightening his noose and he sends uh another letter to him. The strain of the siege is beginning to show. The enemy continued firing from their cannon mortars and small arms. The sentinel near the advanced uh roundabout has his arm cut off by his own cannon. Oh your own cannon?
SPEAKER_03Your own cannon? Yeah, he should.
SPEAKER_02The enemy continued to approach, and we hear our cavalry has been defeated, that we have lost between 20 and 30 wounded among them. All right. So they're worrying about all this insistent artillery shells, and he finds uh Benjamin Lincoln now finds himself in an angry debate with his soldiers. Some of them want to leave, uh, and it's a dangerous recreating of nice. Lincoln once knows that he should leave the city. It was a pretty heated debate with his own commanders. But the British fleet sitting just off the city, uh moving across the river, it would be suicide. So Lincoln sends out a flag of truce and requests for a six-hour break from the fighting. Having already rejected now, here comes British General Clinton's offer of surrender. Lincoln now proposes his own terms. He will give up Charleston in return, and his forces will be allowed to retreat for ten days unmolested. This is a word that I read here. Uh ten days unmolested. Yeah. Uh yeah. With its arms, military stores, and baggage. In addition, he asks for the guaranteed protection of the resident's property. Uh, his goal uh uh would be uh a free evacuation with the honors of war. Uh but the British General Clinton will have none of it. His goal is complete capitulation by the Americans, and he returns the note and includes his terms: a total surrender. Now, total surrender or unconditional surrender is perhaps one of the most humiliating defeats that the enemy can suffer. So the commander will not make an offer and demand total surrender unless he knows that he can take them. Lincoln refuses the offer, and the terms are unacceptable, and it's gonna be a fight to the end. So, the British parallels have now moved within 500 feet, day 30, of the earthen defenses protecting Charleston, and at this distance the cannon can be fired with accuracy into the city. But even at this close range, the British are still looking for some sign of effect of the war of their barrage there. And some intelligence on the mood of their enemy, and they get it, they intercept a letter. Some soldier was sending a letter home to his wife, and in there it says that uh this clemency of power will not be pursued much longer by me. I fear if our presidents fail, this is what they want. So Clinton publishes the letter for all of his men to see, and he continues to just do cannon barrage on the city.
SPEAKER_01Uh uh.
SPEAKER_02Day 38. 38 days of shit. In the American headquarters, Benjamin Lincoln is trying to salvage his defense to hold out in the hope of reinforcements to come up with some plan that might turn the course of the siege. Uh now devastating news arrives from his lines. South Carolinian militia has abandoned their posts within the city. And now the citizens of Charleston are saying that they've had enough. Major General Benjamin Lincoln, commander of the Southern Department of the Continental Army, have run out of options. The siege of Charleston has grown for more than a month, and the British reign, a constant barrage of cannon and mortar fired down upon the town. With Charleston completely surrounded, it's only a matter of time before the British forces move in. Now General Clinton prepares a final offer for the American complete and total surrender. Day 41. Wow. Jeez. The terms of surrender reach Benjamin Lincoln's desk, and now he faces the reality of a situation. Second, to yield his boasts, the time has come to give up the fight. The British canon finally falls silent. On May 12, 1780, the American Southern Army stripes the flag of its own new nation and lays down its weapons. The entire Charleston garrison, more than 5,000 continental soldiers and militia, are now prisoners to the British. It is the heaviest loss that the Americans have suffered in the Revolution, and Benjamin Clinton's war is over for now. He returns in defeat to Massachusetts farm as a prisoner of the British Armed Patrol. Charleston, the jewel of the South, belongs to now the King. And British General Henry Clinton savors his victory. And he cannot hide his optimism about a smooth and easy road into capturing the other Southern colonies now. He sends word home to England about this. And English hears news for this, and they have a much-dued celebration. And finally, the tide of war is turned to the British. The Southern strategy is seemingly, is seemingly a success. Oh yeah?
SPEAKER_00It's not over.
SPEAKER_02Alright. Now, Washington's gonna start throwing down some shit. You ready? Yes. Back in the American headquarters at Morristown, celebration is the last thing on George Washington's mind. The final dispatch from Charleston has arrived. His Southern Army is now lost. It is another defeat for the Americans, one that the commander-in-chief has been powerless to stop. So here's a brutal winter of 1780. It lasted a long time. Can you imagine a winter lasting from uh from from November to May? No. It went all the way to So soldiers are starving. There's dire conditions, and some have pushed uh to the very edge. Uh dissension is growing in the ranks, insubordination starts to run rampant. Some soldiers have threatened to take matters into their own man hands to mutiny. Whoa.
SPEAKER_00Mutiny!
SPEAKER_02It is a decisive and dangerous moment for the Continental Army. George Washington must step forward and restore order. The commander-in-chief chooses his moment to take action. Go get him, George. All right. May 26, 1780. 1780. Eight nooses are prepared for eight men. There are soldiers brought here on a variety of charges. Insubordination, forging documents, theft, and all of them are sentenced to death.
SPEAKER_00Death? Washington.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I'm not done reading it. One moment, please. Washington. Washington orders the execution be held before the entire camp for all of his men to see. It is a carefully choreographed event. Washington wants to use punishment, a capital punishment, particularly sparingly. It is not in his nature to do so. But he also knew it was great theater. Oh, jeez. Well, not our definition of theater, but no. They will put they are put on top of the gallows. Uh nooses were put around their heads, and their graves have been dug in front of the gallows. Oh. And their coffins.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, she doesn't pay to drag them around.
SPEAKER_02Which she ordered, manufactured, and placed next to the graves. The goal of a public execution is to instill awe in the audience. Awe for the power of the military authority. But you can make it into better theater, Amy, by pardoning and offering a last minute reprieve. Oh. As they were about to be hung, a soldier stepped forward from the crowd. We don't know who. And said, offer these men a reprieve. And we believe it was Washington. But it's not written in here. Reprieve, reprieve from the commander in chief. Seven of the eight were free. Uh-oh. So you have both this awe and punishment and then gratitude for the reprieve and the audience.
SPEAKER_01So one poor schmuck hat. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He had to make uh see. Whatever he did. It was they they had to get rid of him, yeah. All at the same time, uh, just one man will hang for his crimes. It's a warning to all in Washington Army of the consequence of insubordination. Washington and these strategies, this starts the British strategy starts to flourish while simultaneously it looks as if the American army is coming undone at the seams. And without the army, there is no revolution. General George Washington. I find our prospects are infinitely worse than they have been for any other period of the war. I look forward to the consequences with anxiety not to be described. George Washington. The commander-in-chief cannot help but question the future of the war. What once was a glorious claw uh cause next is now a glorious cause. We have no idea how it's going to end. Now, coming up next on the revolution, Daniel Morgan's cat and mouse guerrilla tactics will draw the British deep into the unknown Southern Territory, which he learned, of course, probably from Beneg Arnold because he was the first ones. He knows he can lead the British Army into decisive conflicts, and that's what's going to spread the army, uh, the British Army up. This was one of the wars. This is how wars were fought in the backcountry back there, not straight up. Uh he was a rough-necked frontiersman. He has a hard-drinking, hard fighting, and he really is the stuff of fiction, they said. So this guy, Daniel Morgan, is who we're going to look at next. Yes. Um, the revolution. Alright. How do you like them apples?
SPEAKER_00Was he Captain Morgan? Was he Captain Morgan? Oh, maybe that.
SPEAKER_02That's a good thing. That's a good did his family well for yeah. But for now. Amy totally rocks.
SPEAKER_00Oh you don't think so. Yeah. We know so. We know so.
SPEAKER_02She really does.
unknownAmy totally rocks.
SPEAKER_02Totally.
SPEAKER_00Totally.
SPEAKER_02Amy's got news for everybody.
SPEAKER_00I do have some news for everybody. Yeah, some Einstein. Uh the first one is very interesting. Uh, the first ever pig-to-human heart transplant offers hope for thousands in need of organs.
SPEAKER_02Oh. So they have pig and cow.
SPEAKER_00So, and apparently they literally have grown these pigs just for that.
SPEAKER_02I heard that you can get six vowels from one cow. I was reading about this too. So these are human-developed animals.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's the first time a gene-edited pig has been used as an organ donor. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02I wonder if uh what if you're like Jewish? Would you would you get would you want the vowel? So you can't.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Yeah, or something.
SPEAKER_02If you're a vegetarian, would that would that be against your nature?
SPEAKER_00Um, one of those Mormony type people that go through the blood products.
SPEAKER_02I would say save my life. I would, yeah.
SPEAKER_00This guy, yeah. 57-year-old agreed to be the first to risk experimental surgery, hoping it would give him a shot at making it home to his Maryland duplex with his beloved dog Lucky.
SPEAKER_02Oh. See, now I had heard that this has been around for a while, though.
SPEAKER_00But I I don't know. This is the first gene like.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Because I know that the cows are. I see. I see what you're saying. I see. So it's specifically for him, not just a pig valve that came out of a pig.
SPEAKER_00No, they genetically altered a pig for this man. For the to do these heart valve transplants or something.
SPEAKER_03All right. Wow. That's amazing. That's amazing.
SPEAKER_00And he's only 57. That's very young. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_02Lived pretty hard, huh?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I wonder if that's genes, though.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02How long do you have to live to get a heart transplant in your late 50s?
SPEAKER_00Well, it's your heart. If you're born with a shitty heart, it's uh I haven't lived that hard.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Nine hours surgery. Replaced his heart with one uh with from a one-year-old 240 pound gene edited and bred specifically for this person or purpose.
SPEAKER_03Damn. Nine hours. Wow. Can you eat the rest of it though? Sure. I would think you know, you got the pig, you got the ham.
SPEAKER_02I would also think twice about eating bacon again. I mean, if I had an eye on pig valve in me. No doubt. Yeah. Would it say like react?
SPEAKER_03I don't know. Good question. Probably heart attack you'd on purpose. What happened?
SPEAKER_00You guys are joking. We were talking about it. I don't care. Whatever. Um, anyway. I don't know. It's just interesting.
SPEAKER_02It wasn't that's crazy that they can do that. I heard you can get six valves out of a cow though. Wow.
SPEAKER_00And I had a story about how to permanently delete your Facebook account. And then I'm gonna read it because it's like 20 million steps.
SPEAKER_02Can you give us give me the gist?
SPEAKER_00Okay, I'll give you the gist.
SPEAKER_02It's possible.
SPEAKER_00So, you know, you do your normal like deleting your account and then hang on, waiting for the I didn't know you could it's like a whole bunch of.
SPEAKER_03You can't like just like shut it off.
SPEAKER_00I've heard people You can, but it's they're still following you. Really? There's like all these other things you have to like shut off. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It's it's it's it's weird because uh uh I know some people whose family has passed away and they haven't been able to get rid of their like they're dead. Yeah, and the account's just not active anymore.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and you can shut off your account and like delete your account, but they're still following. They're still following you.
SPEAKER_02So you just take out all your information. I mean, that's about all you can do. Just take out all your information, just leave your pictures and everything else.
SPEAKER_00Well, I just can't, it's just spinning. So I don't know. It won't open.
SPEAKER_03Of course it won't. Is your Wi-Fi not working? It should be working. 20,000 steps. I mean, I'm sure that yeah, but I mean it's a lot of steps.
SPEAKER_00And then it's go here and then undo this and then do this, and then send this to there.
SPEAKER_03Like this done, you have to do this.
SPEAKER_00And then you're not done.
SPEAKER_03That's ridiculous.
SPEAKER_00Then you're just shutting that one part off. Then you have to go in and like it's crazy. That's right.
SPEAKER_02And then they went to her then.
SPEAKER_03Are you all right over here? I was thinking about asking, but oh, here I got some more. There, I was gonna like slide that over. Here you go. Hold on.
SPEAKER_00Sorry, did you need that? Don't drink that alcohol.
SPEAKER_01Thanks for your help, man. Sure, no problem. Hope you die. Welcome to the club.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, are none of these gonna Okay, this one opened.
SPEAKER_01Oh, right.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so they're coming out with um new quarters that are featuring women. Finally, all right. So the legendary Maya Angelou becomes the first black woman featured on the U.S. quarter. Nice. Yeah, as part of the American Women Quarters program, groundbreaking event. Um, there's a couple others here.
SPEAKER_02Well, leave it to men to honor women with. They should really replace the $20 Bill Jackson with Harriet, Harriet Tubman. I think she should be on the other hand. Agreed. I agree. She should absolutely be on. She's a badass.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yep. Uh, additional here honorees will be Sally Ride, the first American woman in space.
SPEAKER_03Very nice.
SPEAKER_00I like that one. Yep. Anna Mae Wong, the pioneering Asian film star.
SPEAKER_02See we as we oh my god. Oh wow. Well, wow. Dan angers everybody. There we go.
SPEAKER_00This is funny. This chick's name is Wilma Mankiller, activist. So she'll be calling you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, she's on.
SPEAKER_00First female principal chief of the Cherokee Nation.
SPEAKER_03Oh, damn.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00You're screwed, Dan.
SPEAKER_02I guess so. Yeah. But I'm not a man.
SPEAKER_00You're just a boy.
SPEAKER_03Oh no.
SPEAKER_00And then there's uh Nina Otero Warren, author, educator, and advocate of the women's suffrage movement in the United States.
SPEAKER_03Well, those kids, those coins are gonna be collected at 2020.
SPEAKER_00They're gonna be coming out, I believe, in 2022 and Mexico's suffrage, right?
SPEAKER_02Which is still going on, quite frankly. Correct. Because they treat women like garbage.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But expect them to do everything. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. I thought that was kind of cool.
SPEAKER_02If Harry Tubman gets in a $20 bill, I am gonna keep a $20 bill just together. That would be awesome.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02We should replace we should replace uh uh Jackson for sure.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, what did he do? Just get drunk all the time.
SPEAKER_02He was a famous uh I believe he was a famous soldier general or something like that.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Uh I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I got this thing. How to delete Facebook. If you really want to know. But anyway.
SPEAKER_02You got it up? I do, but you have to you have to do it in summary. You can't tell us everything.
SPEAKER_00Well, uh even the summary is gonna be long.
SPEAKER_02That's why I was like Okay, then give us uh half of the summary.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so this is some how to deactivate your account, how to delete your Facebook account for real.
unknownFor real.
SPEAKER_00If you really wanna bail, take a quick minute. Yeah, okay. Consider whether Facebook has any data on its on its servers that you might want to keep. Like you have to go through and like if you really want to keep stuff, then you should save it or whatever. But it is like yeah. So how to limit your Facebook's ability to track you? You thought you were done, or you're not done. Even though you no longer have a Facebook account, the parent company Meta still tracks you.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, the metadata, yeah.
SPEAKER_00That go, they go through its broader family of productions like Instagram, WhatsApp, WhatsApp, Messenger, Oculus, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. You have to like go through there, and then you have to op out of the ad targeting activity in the digital advertising alliance site.
SPEAKER_01Very gravy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You can use a private browser, Duck DuckGo or whatever, and they can tell you.
SPEAKER_03I'm lost already. I don't even know what to do.
SPEAKER_01Holy crap.
SPEAKER_00The main thing is just because you delete your account doesn't mean they're they are constantly tracking you.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's crazy. I don't like it.
SPEAKER_00Uh this next one is kind of funny. A hung hungry badger, not funny, I guess. Hungry badger digs up a trove of Roman coins in Spain. Holy cow! A badger burring inside a cave in Spain helped bring to light a horde of Roman coins hidden there for centuries. My goodness. Yay!
SPEAKER_03Badger story. Way to go, Badger.
SPEAKER_00And then all the people will steal all the coins from the badger and he'll still be broke.
SPEAKER_03Poor Badger.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, local resident discovered the coins and called an archaeologist. We found that the badger had dug up more than 90 coins. Wow. Oh, holy crap.
SPEAKER_03That's awesome. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He'd be uh angry if somebody took. I mean, aren't badgers just natural state angry? Yes, they're pissed off animals all the time.
SPEAKER_00They're bad. They're fucking history. Oh, badgers!
SPEAKER_02And then I hear the honey badgers are like.
SPEAKER_00Oh, honey badgers don't give a fuck.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That'd be a good name for like the hockey team for like a woman's honey badgers.
SPEAKER_00Honey badgers.
SPEAKER_02Just blow up everybody. Shit. Yep.
SPEAKER_00Jig out.
SPEAKER_02Somebody missing a tooth and a knife. That's a honey badger. You always miss some tooth. She's a honey. That's a damn honey badger. Did you hear about that kid?
SPEAKER_00This is kind of a serious. Like that one kid that died, he was like playing high school hockey or something, he got sliced with a hockey skate. No. And died.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, yeah, happy music off, right?
SPEAKER_00He fell and like this other kid accidentally like ran into him or something.
SPEAKER_03There's nothing funny there.
SPEAKER_00No, but I was just like, that is like, and they're like, this is like the freakiest, weirdest accident in sports every time.
SPEAKER_03I've never heard that. Wow. Yeah. That's sad.
SPEAKER_00I saw that and it heard, I was like, no boy. Yeah. Like it just happened.
SPEAKER_02Oh my God.
SPEAKER_00I was like, that would be horrendous.
SPEAKER_02Let's talk about it more.
SPEAKER_00I'm just saying, it's just like a freak weird thing. And it's just how you get a skate up there.
SPEAKER_02You never know type thing.
SPEAKER_00Somehow, like he fell, and this other kid fell into him, and like it just scared that could be. And then, yeah, just messed up. That's the NHL is like, we, you know, our condolences and like we support him and all that.
SPEAKER_02But we're still gonna have hockey everywhere. Oh, yeah. They're not gonna stop.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, back to the coins are about between 200 and 400 CE. Oh my god. Yeah, Roman Aaron coins. So anyway.
SPEAKER_02Oh, those are just prices. That's worth a ton. Where's it in Spain? Spain. It's probably the rain.
SPEAKER_00The rain in Spain.
SPEAKER_02Well, it's mostly on the plane where the badgers are, so that's that's important. Okay. Yeah. Anybody? Okay, we'll go back. We'll go back to Texas. We're gonna go to Texas now.
SPEAKER_00We'll leave Dan in Spain. Over in Texas, uh a rare phenomenon had occurred in Texarcana.
SPEAKER_03Texarcana.
SPEAKER_00It was raining fish. No, little fish. See? It's a rain and fish. They're like little minnows or some weird little fish.
SPEAKER_01That's gross.
SPEAKER_00And everyone's like, oh, it's because there was some weird, you know, tornadoy. Right. Nope, there wasn't. They went to the meteorologist. There's no site of the water. There was nothing.
SPEAKER_03There was no water spout.
SPEAKER_00Nope. No water spout.
SPEAKER_03That's okay. That's something's not right. Right.
SPEAKER_00And then some people were saying, oh, you know, birds will drop a fish here and there. No, this is like piles. It says multiple Texarcana residents on Wednesday reported finding small fish that had fallen from the sky on Wednesday. They said it was during a storm, but then experts say that the phenomenon can occur when water spouts pick up all the fish, blah, blah, blah. But there is no evidence of water spouts or any severe flooding in Texarkana that explains what was reported on Wednesday. And then there's a picture of like the road with all these little fish playing around.
unknownLook at that.
SPEAKER_02They're like what kind of fish are they? Does it say?
SPEAKER_00Um they look like little minnows.
SPEAKER_02Or sardines, maybe. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, maybe sardines. But yeah, meteorologists, no.
SPEAKER_03Just randomly drop fish out of the air.
SPEAKER_00Meteorologists said a line of thunderstorms moved through on Wednesday, but added there were no warnings or issued or anything.
SPEAKER_03So it could have been a water spot that sucked it up somewhere.
SPEAKER_00But they're saying there was no it was just like a thing of rain.
SPEAKER_02Maybe they were fly fishes.
SPEAKER_00I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, why trying to see if they have like an actual like what kind of fish?
SPEAKER_00Somebody could have been fly fishing in the butt luckily the weather service notified no one was hurt by the no one was struck by the phone.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's good at least. Yeah, you have to get that in the eye. This story stinks.
SPEAKER_02Hello? Now go ahead.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03We know he's gonna anyway.
SPEAKER_00And this one I saw again, I thought of Dan. A kilometer-wide asteroid will make its closest path by Earth next week. It will pass within 1.2 million miles of our planet, moving forty-seven, three hundred and forty-four miles per hour. Um which tracks potentially hazardous comets and asteroids that could collide with our planet.
SPEAKER_03That made you think of Dan Astroid?
SPEAKER_00No, just because he likes weirdy space things. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02He's like a sci-fi dude. Space is true. Space is space is a real place. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So yeah. This is the closest one so far.
SPEAKER_03That's creepy. That's that close.
SPEAKER_00It's estimated to be 2.5 miles and five uh miles and 5.5 miles wide.
SPEAKER_03Oh, so that could cause a little bit of a ripple if it lands in visible pond, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, right. It could be. Yeah, at least. Ohly a little more exciting than Wapan. You should go, but we should go look for it because it won't pass again until September 2nd, 2057.
SPEAKER_03So you'll be able to see it with the naked eye, or you need assistance.
SPEAKER_00Unlikely to be visible with the naked eye.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00But you could get a telescope, it says, and you'd be able to spot it.
SPEAKER_03Could go to Wayland Academy and try it, see it that way. At least you can see Wapan from Google Earth. I mean, maybe that's you could even see the lights from the prison if you look north.
SPEAKER_00Well, from Wapon, you can see the glow of Walmart. So yeah, right, see?
SPEAKER_02And somebody getting a shiv. Same thing. Yeah. So there's that, yeah. In the backyard.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And other stuff in the backyard. Come on, bitch.
SPEAKER_00Whoa, whoa.
SPEAKER_02I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_00Did we cross a line though?
SPEAKER_02We did. We just lost Mrs. Lefe.
SPEAKER_03Oh, wait, come back. Come back. Sorry. Sorry.
SPEAKER_00And that's kind of all I got.
SPEAKER_03That'll do.
SPEAKER_00There wasn't really a lot of like funny, weird. I mean, the fish thing was weird, but you only had six weeks.
SPEAKER_02There's no way you could have known. No.
SPEAKER_00Busy at all.
SPEAKER_03Wow. And that's it.
SPEAKER_00I'm glad I drive all the way here for this.
unknownSports.
SPEAKER_03The cowboys suck. They do. But they sucked themselves into the third bracket. They did. They're in third, uh, third place in the NFC. Of course, your Green Bay Packers are in the first seed.
SPEAKER_00They got a bye.
SPEAKER_03They got the bye, and we all know how Aaron Rodgers handles the bye. Yeah, I know that. So they're likely gonna lose. Okay. Yeah. I'm cheering for the Eagles, baby. I know. You almost have to, right?
SPEAKER_02Does he still look like a marijuana dealer now with Alice Long?
SPEAKER_03Uh he's not just a dealer, he's the grower too, I think now. But dude, he's just so lax, man. I think uh I think he's does he look he looks bored now.
SPEAKER_00He does yeah, he's making millions, not even doing playing.
SPEAKER_02He's reached a point to where even the job of your dreams is still a job position. Where he's still gotta work. Have you have you seen even though it's a job of his dreams?
SPEAKER_03Have you seen his commercials lately? That uh like what is that that uh insurance commercial that he's done?
SPEAKER_00State farm.
SPEAKER_03State farm, yeah. The the Rogers Raid. Yeah, you look so uninvolved with those. He's just kind of there, like, you're gonna give me the Rogers Raid if I'm still just a normal human being. Bing. Bing. What? Yeah, dude. What's like he's void of pay me the money. Just give me my money.
SPEAKER_02Void of heart and dreams. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I can do it.
SPEAKER_00Roll and cut, done. You know, we're it'll be a million dollars for five minutes of work.
SPEAKER_03A million dollars.
SPEAKER_00A million dollars.
SPEAKER_03So, yes, a million dollars. So let's see. AFC, Tennessee Titans are number one, Kansas City's number two. Who who saw that coming? I I yeah, I guess I did.
SPEAKER_00Oh, they suck so bad for a while then. Yeah, they did. I'm more shocked at the 49ers. I can't believe. I mean, there's still a wild card.
SPEAKER_03Did you watch that game the other night? Yeah. Holy I was like, holy crap. I 17 to nothing, I was like, all right, well, the 49ers probably won't make it. Right, right. So I went outside, did something because it was freezing, and I come back in and I'm like, oh, it's for it's tied.
SPEAKER_00Catching up. Catch him up.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, you know, it's almost tied. I'm like, wow. So I sat down and watched it. Yeah, and they ended up winning the game. Yeah. Now they're going to Dallas. Yeah. And they probably will still win the damn game there. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I hope so.
SPEAKER_03I know you do it. You know George Kittle.
SPEAKER_00You know George Kittle.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I actually like him as a tight end.
SPEAKER_00He's a good guy.
SPEAKER_03I like him way better than Gronkowski as a tight end.
SPEAKER_00Gronkowski's guy.
SPEAKER_03But I still gotta pull. You guys want to do some picks for the playoffs? I don't. Dan?
SPEAKER_00Well, should we do picks for this week? Or are you just gonna go to the box? Let's do this week.
SPEAKER_03Well, I mean, you can pick your Super Bowl champion. I already got mine. The Cowboys?
SPEAKER_00Is that what you're saying?
SPEAKER_03Now I can answer that two ways.
SPEAKER_00I like this. Let's say that.
SPEAKER_03Yes, my heart says Micah Parsons, outstanding defensive player of the year, probably. And Dak Prescott, if he's playing at his best, yeah, nobody can beat him. Now that's my heart saying that.
SPEAKER_00But you got mine making calls.
SPEAKER_03See, and that's just filth. I just want to vomit every time I hear that.
SPEAKER_00I don't know how many games we blew because he's an idiot.
SPEAKER_03Oh it is bad.
SPEAKER_00And then, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So I don't know. I can make my pick of who I think is gonna win. Or at least face each other in the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_00But I hate their own.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, uh, Jerry Jones is so much.
SPEAKER_00He's just a douche.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, Dow Cowboy. I'm gonna go mark. And that's why I like it when they lose.
SPEAKER_00When they lose, because then he gets all mad.
SPEAKER_02Because he gets yeah, he does get red. He does get steamy. I bet you he says tarnation when he's hungry.
SPEAKER_00Tarnation! Oh jack squat!
SPEAKER_03He gets he's he's unhappy until he steps foot on his god.
SPEAKER_00Ugh. I mean all his hookers and things.
SPEAKER_03Well, whatever he you know makes him happy, I guess. I don't know. So yeah, if you guys want to we we can make picks. Well let's just pick uh for this week. For this week, okay? So what are my options? Dan, your options are the number two Kansas City Chiefs versus the number seven Pittsburgh Steelers.
SPEAKER_02See, I like the Steelers. They're my second favorite team after that. Okay. They backed into the playoffs. They did? Remember that, yeah. All right, I'm still I'm gonna pick the Steelers here. You keep track. I don't want to keep track.
SPEAKER_03Okay. So I'm gonna keep it. I'm gonna pick the Steelers. You are gonna. I I think that's a wise choice. Now, how much money is on this, Amy? No. Money? I don't have any money. No, I just because of that pick, I want to put money on it now.
SPEAKER_00No, I'm just kidding. Let's just do a drink. Is anybody like a liquor drink? Not like a soda, Dan. Pit or like a real drink. Oh, you gotta do that.
SPEAKER_03There's no over KC. Okay. And then, Dan, you got number three Buffalo Bills against uh number six New England Patriots.
SPEAKER_02I'm I just root I don't root for the Patriots anymore. I just don't. Okay, so you got Bills. I don't root for the Yankees and I don't root for the Patriots. That's how I do football.
SPEAKER_03That's a good one. That's a good one. Okay, Bills over Patriots, you got. Now you got number four, Bengals at 10 and 7 against number five, the Raiders at 10 and 7.
SPEAKER_00That's another surprise.
SPEAKER_03That's a big game right now.
SPEAKER_00That's a huge game.
SPEAKER_03You're gonna go Raiders. I'm gonna go Raiders. I love it. Raiders over Bengals. Excellent. Okay, that's uh that's that okay, Ames.
SPEAKER_00Well, he's gotta pick the 49ers. Oh, yeah. Sorry. All right, and then the Rams and the Cardinals.
SPEAKER_03Okay, now Dan, NFC. We got the number two Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the number seven seed Philadelphia Eagles.
SPEAKER_02Who's who's the quarterback that we don't like from Tom Brady?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so Tampa Bay, yeah. They're 13 and 4 record-wise.
SPEAKER_00He just pulled some crap too, didn't he? To get like Gronkowski another million dollars or something.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Crap. Yeah, he whined and he got him to stay non-retired. Yeah. Philadelphia.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you're going for the nice. Going for the ups. Big one. Oh, man. Dan's rolling big.
SPEAKER_03I'm impressed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Then you got the Cowboys and 49ers. 49ers. I knew it was the city. 49ers at the Cowboys. 49ers at Cowboys. Consequently, I just saw the uh they're hot right now. 49ers are hot right now. Well, they got they got they got some luck, but they did do well.
SPEAKER_02I just saw the uh documentary on uh who's that he's one of my nice nice quarterback from the from the 80s for the 49ers who won like 47. Montana. Yeah, go Montana. I just saw a documentary on it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, from the 80s. Fantastic. It's a genuinely nice fan. He's really a good guy. I hated his. And he doesn't look like he looks like nothing.
SPEAKER_02He looks like a short little squatty nothing. No, he looks like Barry Manilo. And then he goes on and he throws the football wherever he wants and gets as many touchdowns as he pleases. So you've got to give credit to that guy.
SPEAKER_03Oh, he was fantastic. And then your last game, the 12-5 uh Los Angeles Rams versus the 11-5 uh Arizona Cardinals. 11-6. 11-6, sorry, that is 11-6. I'm gonna go Cardinals. Okay, Cardinals! Excellent Cardinals over the Ramp. Amy! What my picks? No, no, no, no, the Ramps. I'm not a big Ram. So, Amy, we're gonna go. Same thing. Okay, we got Chiefs Steelers.
SPEAKER_00Chiefs.
SPEAKER_03Okay, I thought you were gonna say the shell. You got the shot.
SPEAKER_00They're picking up steam.
SPEAKER_03They are actually really playing solid ball. Ah, 11 and 5, Bill! 11 and 6 Bills over uh Patriots.
SPEAKER_00Bills.
SPEAKER_03Bills!
SPEAKER_02Oh I gotta do that football.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I can't.
SPEAKER_03I hate him.
SPEAKER_00Such a cheater. God.
SPEAKER_03Yes. God. Cheater McCeaterson. Flat falls and video. Bengals Raiders.
SPEAKER_00That's gonna be a hard one. Yeah. That's gonna be a hard one. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03There's gonna be a lot of like cold weather.
unknownLike super.
SPEAKER_03No, not for a while. Not really, right now. Even uh weather. No, nobody's really ice cold. Cold weather. That's in Tampa.
SPEAKER_00I mean Buffalo.
SPEAKER_03Buffalo be the coldest one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Raiders, Bengals. That's gonna be like a whoever screws up the least is gonna win that game. Oh, that's gonna be tough. I know, and the Bengals have let me down so many times this year in my picks.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, ten and seven. I didn't root for them, did I? I don't think I did. No. You chose the Raiders. Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_00The Raiders are messed up.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00If they get into their mind, they're gonna be screwed because of the whole. They're kind of a little bit they're a little wonky. I'll pick the Bengals.
SPEAKER_03Bengals! She's going bangles! Yes. Over raids. Don't call them the Raiders. Oh, sorry. Over the Raiders. Okay. So um You know what? Go back to Raids. Okay. No, you're not gonna be a good one. Okay, Amy, Bucks, Eagles.
SPEAKER_00God, I don't want to pick this game. I don't want to pick it.
SPEAKER_03Yep. The Eagles are dangerous.
SPEAKER_00No, they're not. They suck.
SPEAKER_03But they do suck, yeah. They suck.
SPEAKER_00It's it's freaking Tom Brady in the playoffs. I mean, granted, they are wild card considering they won the Super Bowl last year.
SPEAKER_03God, I don't want to pick it up. They have some injuries now, too. I don't want to. Just pick out of hate. That's what I do. Yes.
SPEAKER_00I'll pick the Buccaneers, but I'm rooting for the Eagles.
SPEAKER_03Bucks over Philly, but I hate the Tampa Bay. Okay. Um, Cowboys 49ers. I'm already gonna put yours in. Another one, too.
SPEAKER_00I don't know.
SPEAKER_03You think 49ers?
SPEAKER_00Or I'll take the Cowboys.
SPEAKER_03I have to erase that. I'm impressed. You are my favorite.
SPEAKER_00I love George Kittle and they're doing good right now, but the Cowboys at home for a wild card game is gonna be pretty tough. Could be a good game. Dak. Dak will be on it. Dak is alright. Rams Cardinals. Just gotta keep McCarthy out of the game. He's an idiot.
SPEAKER_03I hope they hit somebody hits him.
SPEAKER_00God, he's just an idiot.
SPEAKER_03Run into him. They get through your pants for it.
SPEAKER_00Dumb. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02I want to do Rick's uh didn't did you do another special? I do, I have names.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so let's pick Ryan. Okay, she got Rams. Alright. And I got mine over, so I will uh Well, we need to know what they are, but I guess you can do that. Well, I can Yeah, just go down quick. Yep. Um I got uh okay, you guys are saved, the mine saved. Um I got the Bucks, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I got the Cowboys winning, I got the Rams winning, and then I got Chiefs, Bills, and Raiders.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00So you guys pick Raiders, I pick since.
SPEAKER_03Yes, that's the only thing we'll we'll see what happens. Now names most unbelievable names in sports. I'm gonna leave off with my favorite. I've on the hump a lot. So you Yes! That's that's well, that's one of them. Um Misty Hyman, remember what she did? So you guys have to do the sport, right?
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_00We try and guess the sport that they're playing.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Come on, Dan.
SPEAKER_02I'm trying to find a good music.
SPEAKER_00Oh, this is not good music.
SPEAKER_02No, that's not. Go ahead, Rick. I got nothing.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02Apparently not.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02Maybe I can find something.
SPEAKER_03Okay, extremely rare. So, all right, now who is this? Okay, so what does he do? Farage Fardas.
SPEAKER_00Is he one of those hot dog eating guys?
SPEAKER_03Or or is it Farage Fartas? I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00Is he like a race car driver?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_02Dan. Uh, he is an Olympic doctor.
SPEAKER_03Correct. No. He's he's a rugby player. Oh.
SPEAKER_00Oh, does that count as a sport? Um I never played.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, that would be killed. Steve Schartz. Golf. Poor guy. There we go. There. What is Steve Schartz? What did he do for a living? He is swimmer. No.
SPEAKER_00Oh, shitting in the pool.
SPEAKER_03Baseball. Jeez.
SPEAKER_00Why did he just stop? Because he's shirting.
SPEAKER_03All right. Okay, Dick Paradise. Dick Paradise. Dick Paradise. He's a tennis player. Close. No, no, not really.
SPEAKER_00A yacht master?
